How does this work?

Unicodeโ€”the standardized system for computer charactersโ€”has designated over 134,000 characters

Unicode includes almost every letter and glyph in every written language, as well shapes, numbers, emoji, and lots more.

Some of the thousands of Unicode Characters:

This text generator takes advantage of a set of unicode characters called mathematical alphanumeric symbols.

It's important for styles in mathematical equations to remain consistent regardless of where they're placedโ€”because an italicย b might mean somthing different to a boldย ๐—ฏย orย aย frakturย ๐–‡.

When math goes wrong bad things happen.

Where can I use this text?

You can use these characters pretty much everywhere online, in social media posts on sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Youtubeโ€”it's particularly popular in Instagram biosโ€”as well as instant messaging apps like iMessage and Whatsapp.

Bold text is also useful to distinguish your wifi network, browser tabs and bookmark folders:

Bold Fraktur in browser tabs and bookmark folders.

When should I use bold text?

You can use boldface to emphasize any text, from a single letter to a whole paragraph. But it works best when used to draw the eye to a specific word or phrase in a block of text.

As a general rule, you should only ever use either italic or bold, and not both.

โ€ฆuse bold and italic as little as possible. They are tools for emphasis. But if everything is emphasized, then nothing is emphasized.
